GENESIS 1:26 - Early Evidence of the Trinity

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Early Evidence of the Trinity

I think it's really cool how as early as Genesis 1 there is an indication of the trinity through the use of "Us" and "Our". And in checking out multiple translations it seems like they all translate it as such so I'm assuming it's not simply a matter of wishful/creative interpretation of the original text.

This seems further supported by the fact that later on in Genesis 3:22, the same use of "Us" appears ("Behold, the man has become like one of Us...")

It's also an indication of the honour bestowed upon man above all other creations in that in all the previous days' creations, the Father simply commands things to be, and they are. But when He arrives at the creation of mankind he "consults" Jesus and the Holy Spirit first, or at least includes them in the conversation. Awesome.
